Lindsey Foggett Handsigned & Numbered Limited Edition Print:"Canyon Shadows" - The Wildlife Art of Lindsey Foggett
This was a commissioned piece by a Veterinarian who expressed a wish for a painting of a coyote with Native American petraglyphs, remnants of a dwelling and pottery shards. I wanted to include these historic elements by placing them in the painting true to how they could be found. I like the concept of all the subtle shades of the Southwest that make these additional elements camouflaged. This piece is painted in gouache (an opaque watercolor medium) and by using this medium, when it came to the petraglyphs; I used a wet brush to remove the paint off the rock. By doing this, it gave a lovely etched feeling to the symbols.
